Bison

Bison hunting at Superior Wildlife Adventures

Stalk North America’s largest land animal.

Our bison herd is a mix of those raised on site and others we purchase. Doing this we can help preserve the habitat by keeping a few less cows. The herd currently roams hundreds of acres of mixed timber, lowland and open rolling agriculture fields.

These hunts can provide a triple trophy: Feeding the family, buffalo skin rug and a head/horns mount. What a truly a rewarding experience!

>Many options to choose from for your trophy: taxidermy mounts, European mounts, dipped skull, have hide made into a rug, etc.

* All buffalo hunts include an experienced guide, caping and field dressing. Most hunts are 3 days/2 nights with lodging and 6 meals included but can vary based on hunter needs.

Sizes range from a few 6-9 yr old bulls as shown above here, to the fun “meat” harvest 2 1/2 year old shownbelow.

Hunt Bison with:
Rifle, Muzzleloader, Handgun, Archery, or Crossbow year-round!

You and your guide may chose to stalk your bison or hunt from a heated blind.

BISON MEAT FACTS: Bison is a healthy alternative to beef. It is leaner and lower in fat, has less cholesterol and 25% fewer calories.  It is a dark red meat with fine fat marbling that provides a softer and more tender meat.

**Yield: Typically bison will yield about 55-60% meaning that if an animal weighs 1000 lbs (easy number to work with) you could end up with a 600 lbs hanging carcass and around 400lbs of meat for the freezer. (FYI – our bison will weigh around 1000 to 1500 lbs)
